About the Department

Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, an institution of Post Graduate studies and research in the Haryana State, established in 2014 as a State University. Since inception the Department of Mathematics was established under the umbrella of Faculty of Physical Sciences, as one of the first sixteen departments of the University. The Department offers Master of Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy programs in Mathematics with the major objective to develop a centre of excellence especially in Mathematics Sciences and its applications.The curriculum of M.Sc is totally choice based credit system(CBCS). In the Curriculum there is one paper of Self-Study on the base of which the students improve their habits of self-study by consulting different research papers of National and International repute. There is centralized computer lab in which the different mathematical programming software’s like MATLAB, FORTRAN,LATEX, MATHEMATICA etc. are installed.The department of mathematics has its own department Library with books sponsored by National Board of Higher Mathematics and donated by staff members for the M.Sc Mathematics students.Presently, the research area is the Applied Mathematics in the field Mechanics of Solids, Theoretical Seismology and Wave Motion.Along with teaching, the budding mathematicians are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities by joining Hobby classes.
Along with teaching, our faculty members are actively engaged in research by participating in conferences/seminars of national and international reputes. By due course of time, the department has been organizing post graduate and research level conferences, seminars and workshops. A new mile stone of the department of mathematics is to start Integrated M.SC program in mathematics, Mathematics with computer science and a certificate course in Vedic Mathematics in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, a leading education reformer body.
