Prof. R. K. Mittal,Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University is a notedeconomist and management educationist having thirty years of experience in teaching,research and academic administration in prestigious institutions of higher learning. He hasbeen the founder Vice Chancellor of Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad (2008-13), Director – Development & NAAC/UGC Co-ordinator (2014-18) and Dean, UniversitySchool of Management Studies (2005-08) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University,Delhi. Additionally,he has been the Dean of School of Education (2005-07), Dean of Schoolof Humanities & Social Sciences (2005-07) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University,Delhi and HOD/ Incharge of Department of Business Economics(1996-2000) at GuruJambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. In all these institutions Prof. Mittalhas the privilege and unique distinction of workingfrom their beginning thus understandingthe process of institution building and contributing to their development.Professor Mittal holds Ph.D, M.Phil. M.A. (Economics) and B.Com. from KurukskhetraUniversity and subsequently obtained M.B.A. from Indira Gandhi National Open University,Delhi. Prof.Mittal has teaching and research interests in areas of business environment,development issues & policies, competitiveness analysis, banking & financial institutions,managerial economics, leadership and managerial issues in organisations and institutions ofhigher learning.He has guided fifteen Ph.D. theses and about 150 M.B.A. projects while research work ofothersix Ph.D scholarsis in progress.His passion for teaching and research is reflected in his publications (110 in national &international journals and conference proceedings), talks delivered(more than 100), caseswritten(6), consultancy projects handled(2) and prestigious workshops/conferencesorganised(more than 50). He has also co-edited six books on publication of proceedings ofprestigious conferences in management and economics.Prof. Mittal is actively associated with academic bodies/associations such as Indian Economic Association, All India Management Association, Global Institute of FlexibleSystems Management, NAAC and NBA. He is also in the management board/statutorybodies of various academic institutions.He has been to U.S.A., Japan and Nepal to present his research papers in various universities– Steven Institute of Technology, Hoboken (New Jersey), Harvard University andMassachusetts Institute of Technology in U.S.A.; Graduate School of System Design &Management, Hiyoshi Campus, Keio University (Tokyo) in Japan and Tribhuvan University(Kathmandu) in Nepal.In recognition of his significant contribution to teaching, research and corporate life of theuniversity, Prof. Mittal has been conferred with the Best Teacher Award in 2002 by GuruGobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi
