Welcome To the Department of Biotechnology
About the Department
Biotechnology is the modern branch of science that explores the technological revolution in
biological processes for the benefit of society. The Department of Biotechnology was established
in 2014 with the objective of encouraging students to build their career and achieving great
heights in science. The educational environment of the Department provides an excellent
platform for students’ growth and enhances their interaction with the experienced and committed
teaching faculties. It also blends classroom teaching with co-curricular activities that give the
students an opportunity to showcase their talent and developing a better personality. In addition,
it is also accountable for its quality research, dissertation and hands on training to the students in
well-equipped laboratories. All faculty members are active in doing advance research funded by
various Govt. of India agencies such as UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc. M.Sc. students do dissertation
on several important research topics. The department regularly invites eminent scientists and
academicians to deliver seminars on current topics of national importance to apprise the students
and faculty members on recent advances related to the field of biotechnology.

To ignite the minds of young generation and developing leadership qualities in them so
that they can excel in the world of science
To provide the academic knowledge and research skills in the field of biotechnology
To develop entrepreneurial capabilities to accelerate the growth of society.
